Tinkerbella

My best friend's birthday is on the 23rd, she has 3 daughters, 2 of which share the same birthday! Can you imagine sharing your special day with not only one daughter but TWO!





















This card is for one of the daughters... she is going to be 10 years old!! I remember seeing the double lines on the pregnancy test with my friend the day she took the test. Amazing how time flies.

So about the card:
this card's layout comes from a challenge on SplitCoastStampers. A great place to get ideas and layouts, challenges, and veiw what other's are doing with the stamps you have.

The patterned paper is from a pack of paper I got from the dollar store near me. The stamps are from Stamping Bella this is Tinkerbella, and her saying. I love the dew drops on here I got them from Ellen Hutson they are also known as baubles which you can get from Stamping Bella also.


The picture doesn't show it... the real card is so much cuter because you can see all the dazzling diamonds I put on all the pixie dust, and all over Tinkerbella.



On the inside I made a name plate that pops up when she opens the card. Again it is so much cuter in real life... I used a little Tinkerbell stamp from the local hobby lobby. and again hand-drew the pixie dust and put glitter on each individual pixie star.

Got it!!

I GOT MY SCANNER TO WORK!!! I can now start scanning and posting again... on a very regular basis. I can't wait.

With NO further delay... I HAD to make this fabulous card for my friend who's birthday is in a week or so. I used the FABULOUS colors because of a color challenge that I was just dying to use!!! Groovy Guava, Bairly Banana, and Chocolate Chip... with Whisper white of course.

There are some elements on this card I just can't let you miss out on:

1. Do you see the perfect little dry embossed dots along both sides? How fabulous are these. These are made with the CROP-A-DILE. Yeah, it's not only good for setting eyelets, and punching holes. You can ALSO make these perfect little embossed dots on the edge of paper. If you get the "BIG-BITE CROP A DILE" which I don't have you can probably put the embossed dots everywhere and anywhere! I also put them in each scallop on the scalloped circle "tag" as well.... .

2. The second thing I want you to see is the frayed ribbon. Isn't it fun to see a different texture? I love it. this is so simple... you are simply faying the ribbon... First I died white ribbon. I used rubbing alcohol in a "pringles" lid and then I added drops of reinkers from Stampin Up! dip the ribbon in and you now have ribbon that is died to the perfect color.

Now make sure your ends are cut bluntly (square - no angles this time) With the way that ribbon is made there is always one side that is easier to "fray" than the other... I pull with my finger nail to find the string that keeps the ribbon all weaved nicely... pull on it...(if it is the wrong end of your piece it won't fray easily, so try other end.) Now pull and pull and pull... keep a tight hold on the pieces...as they will be everywhere if you don't. In fact I fray to the middle of my piece and then I tie it with cord, thread, embossing thread, another piece of ribbon or what ever and then finish fraying the other half.

the stamps for this project: I used the retired Stampin' Up set called Watercolor Garden II. and I also used the wheel that is Stipple (I think that is what it is called.) And Happy Birthday is fromViola set.

It's been forever!!!

Okay so I haven't posted anything for a long time, don't know if there is even any of you out there to read my blog... but... I wanted to just quickly post some of my cards that I have put sand on because I wanted to show how cool REAL SAND, Heat and Stick Powder and Versamark ink:

The first one here (the purple with shells) is made with a versamarker, I colored where I wanted the sand and then added Heat & Stick powder, and then I stuck down sand.

The second one was this crab one, I did just some very slight sand under the shrimp and under some of the shells... the same way that I did the sand on the shell card.

And the last one is this Bella card, where I actually stamped in a VersaMark Ink Pad, an d then stuck the Heat & stick powder down on it and then stuck sand down on the snow man.

I have so many things to show you now that some time has passed, I couldn't post some of my big projects because I didn't want my mom to get on here and see everything... So now, I can show you my mother's day gifts and stuff like that.

Okay one more... Just for catch up sake.

I have this one too... I could save it for tomorrow or next week but I am not going to ... I am just thrilled with the way this one came out.

This is for my sister-in-law, she is a diva for sure! And she is one of the few women I know who could probably sit on a cup cake and NOT bust through it! or smoosh it! *smile*

I used Cupcakeabella from Stampingbella I love these little chickeeees.... she is the best.

This is Chocolate Chip paper from Stampin' Up! of course, and then it is Regal Rose and Cool Caribean (last years In color) she is stickled on the circles on her dress and the cupcake has a yummy bauble for the cherry!


Oh, but wait... it is one of my favorite kinds of cards... the double slider!!!!


Here is is open: ... Isn't it awesome!?! Okay so this is Hero Art's clear stamp set.... Clear Design Cupcakes .... It comes with these awesome words and it matches cupcakeabella so well! It says "you deserve a day sprinkled with FUN! and then it says Seize the Cupcake... Happy Birthday!

I (heart) stamping's challenge

I subscribe to several different blogs... One of which is this girls: I (heart) to stamp. She is a marvelous stamper and creator... she challenged everyone to do a card with this layout:

Here is what I came up with... I don't totally like it but the day that I did it I was just trying to keep my mind busy because that morning my grandfather passed away so I was kind of "out of it". (That might also explain the "moody-black and white" colors.

I used the Embrace Life stamp set, and then the Many Thoughts or something from Stampin' Up!

I used Dew Drops in Wedding Bells for my little embellishments down the right side... I think it needs some ribbon or something but I didn't know where to put it.... so this is what I got... I should have put a larger circle under the main little pink scallopped circle or something.

Oh my gosh, it has been so long since I have posted anything on here... Man, I guess it makes since... February my computer was kind of on a fritz and I couldn't post any pictures ...

March is my husband's birthday and my birthday, and then we have our anniversary and then we had spring break vacation... Opening up our lake house and getting ready for SUMMER!!! YEY!

I have a few things to post...
I have this lovely little card, that I am sending out to a few friends for sending flowers... My grandfather passed away on Monday and some out of town friends sent flowers... so this is my thank you to them

I think it is super cute, I call it "Rubbin' and Shakin!" because I used the NEW Stampin' Up! Rub-on's and then I made it into a shaker card.

This is a Sale-A-Bration set, and then I used On the Board shapes (3 circles) to stack up and put as the shaker.

Pop Up Bella

Seems like every time I turn around I have a birthday to make a card for!!! ISN'T LIFE GREAT!!! Ha ha ha I love it! I want more friends so that I have even more cards to make!!! It's just an excuse to be in my space making cards.

This one is my most recent Bella card. I made her with Presentabella. I love her so much because you can use her for SOOO many different things... Birthday, thanks, mother's day, anything that gets presents... I mean it worked welll for Christmas and for almost any holiday!

I used Soft Sky for the first time with this card, and I used some Wintergreen Patterned paper and Chocolate Chip. There are accents of Certainly Celery too....

Her dress is paper pieced... which I admit I am not very good at but it turned out okay on this particular one. I colored the dots in with some gel-pens.

The stripes and the dots were a little tooo busy for my taste so I covered the present with the same background paper. I think it turned out cute. and the "Ribbon" on the package was colored with gel-pens again and stuck on seperate than the rest. A scalloped circle and several circles add the final touch of the sentiment.

I made this so that it would pop up... when she opened it up there was her name that popped up out of the center of the card... I tried to take a picture but it turned out quite blurry. (I will be so glad when my scanner is up and running again!) Here is that picture, and on the back when it is open the people that see the back have this little pannel that pops up also... "I'm 35 years OLD"
